Marija Koričan was born on May 14, 1994, in Zagreb. She finished VII. Gymnasium in Zagreb in 2013 and the same year, she enrolled at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2017, majoring in Manufacturing Engineering. She continued her education at the graduate level, also majoring in Manufacturing Engineering, graduating in 2019. She wrote her dissertation at the Chair of Materials Protection, entitled “Influence of cleaners with corrosion inhibitors for surface preparation on the protective properties of coatings.” She started to work at the Chair of Marine Engineering in August 2020 as a junior researcher on the project Interreg ADRION “SEAVIEWS”. Since February 2021, she has been employed as an assistant at the Department of Naval Architecture, where she started her Ph.D. studies in the field of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. Research interests are related to the energy efficiency of marine power systems, ship environmental eligibility, life-cycle assessments of ships, and analysis of the socio-economic impact of the fisheries sector in Croatia. |
